Speak Australian

Hello - I checked the Australian forums a month or two ago and there was one on "How to speak Australian". It was quite funny and there was a link to another site. I can't seem to find it again! Does anyone know it?

One more question - we will be in Sydney and Melbourne in late June. I know it is winter. How should we dress? And do we need to get changed into something dressier for dinners? Thanks so much!

www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html

smart casual is all u need for most eating out in aus.

melbourne does tend to be a tad more formal than sydney.

melb will be cold but not by philly standards.

sydney will be coolish at night but have warm sunny days.

"Thanks, they're ripper sites!"

And when you use "Aussie slang" with a Yank accent trying to take off an Aussie accent - we all think you are a right tosser :-) but we smile anyway

Ha Ha you got me! Although I couldn't find tosser on the Aussie site, I think I get your message.

I found the thread I was looking for on the bludger site. Thanks! It's so funny. You all have such a great sense of humor. I'm really looking forward to our trip to Australia.
