Coastal place tfor a break?

Hi...we have been travelling in Australia for some time now and before we leave for New Zealand the end of this month would like to spend a few days somewhere on the coast - say between Noosa and Sydney - preferably a beach, and with few people - but a reasonably nice place to relax! (4 or 5 star) We will have a car and be driving Brisbane to Sydney, but would like to plan for this stop and book ahead. Some dining options in the vicinity would be nice, as well as a few shops - just not throngs of people. Any suggestions would be welcome....thanks!!

Promised Land Cottages at Belligen just near Coffs Harbour..lovely village in the rolling hills. www.promisedlandcottages.com.au

On The Rocks- Yamba - great seaside village.

Unfortunately bellingen is not a good choice for a few weeks as they just had major flooding and are still cleaning up...it's also a little inland with a drive to the beach..

Yamba is a good choice..

You might try AAnuka at Coffs (could a bit crowded)...

Another option might be The observatory at Port Macquarie (wrong time of year for throngs..)

I think Coffs Harbour is a good choice (halfway between Sydney & Brisbane)

Two years ago we stayed just north ( aprox 7km)of Coffs Harbour at Korora Bay in December (peak season) and there were only 5 or 6 people on the beach at any given time. there are several beachfront apartments and villas in the area which cost about AU$150pn or you could try www.opalcove.com a very nice 5star resort
