Depends what you like. Sydney is the largest city in Australia so its big and vibrant sitting on a beautiful harbour with our Harbour Bridge & Opera House. You can spend the day on the harbour, going by ferry to Manly Beach or get a bus to Bondi Beach, day trip to the 3 Sisters in Blue Mountains - the list goes on.The Gold Coast is our beautiful surf coast in Queensland - long glorious beaches, very laid back attitude and home to most of our theme parks.....so kind of depends what sort of holiday you want. Can fly between the 2 (about 1hr flight) to enjoy both

As mentioned it depends on your own interests. Sydney definitely has more to offer however the Gold Coast is great if you like beaches.. Why not do the both - fly into the Gold Coast pick up a cheap ticket to Sydney from Coolangatta Airport.
