Need punctuality: JetStar or Tiger Airways?

Hi, can't really afford missing an onward flight.

I understand Tiger have a poor record, e.g. see here:

How do they compare against JetStar?

What would the 2 airlines resemble most in the European world?

And this source says Tiger was better in Dec 2012 than JetStar, still see lots of complaints...

What is your real priority: punctuality or price?

Both of these airlines are at the lower end of the punctuality spectrum (although Jetstar is far better than Tiger), but you seem to be deliberately choosing Australia's two Lowest Cost Carriers for comparison, while ignoring Qantas and Virgin who are generally the most reliable, but more expensive.

If you can't afford to miss an onward flight, pick a reliable airline and travel early enough to be assured of making the connection.

You can't get a more succinct answer than those provided above. So I guess it would be a matter of "risk it at your own peril".

And if you're comparing their punctuality status against European airlines, in my experience would be the equivalent of a few steps below Alitalia

I wouldn't risk either of them,

use Q or virgin and often there is little price between them..

if you have luggage and need a cardboard meal Q

Luigi, when you say "Jetstar is far better than Tiger", on what do you base this?

Certainly not the on time arrivals and departure statistics published by BITRE - see link in #1.

In the European world, Jetstar and Tiger are you Easyjet and your Ryanair, while Qantas is your BA and Virgin is.....well, it's Virgin!

And if you absolutely, have to be there, you can't rely on any of them.

Allow at least one flight between your supposed arrival and departure so that if you can't for some reason get on your planned flight you can get the next one.

No airline can GUARANTEE to get you from A to B on time.

What is the time difference between your arriving flight (Tiger or Jetstar) and your onward flight?
