Great Ocean Road self drive 3 days

Hi ,

Intend to self drive and take my time to and fro from Melbourne.

At least want to reach the 12 apostles. Possible for 3 days only?

Any itinerary on which place is worthwhile to stop along the way , and also accommodation advice.

Hi. You could stop one night at Lorne or Apollo Bay, the second night at Port Campbell (near the Apostles) or Warrnambool (largest town on the route) and then return to Melbourne via the inland which only takes about four hours if I remember right,

The most scenic stretches with places to park and take photos are between Lorne and Apollo Bay (beside the road) and in the vicinity of Port Campbell (some walking required between car parks and lookouts).

The lighthouses at Aireys Inlet and Cape Otway can be worth a look.

There are also various walks to see the forest and waterfalls and such.

In Warrnambool you can learn more about the history of the area at Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village.

AS mentioned by Macknee Lorne / Port Campbell are excellent stops on limited time.
