What do you collect on your travels?

Just interested to see what souvenirs people collect while travelling, I'm travelling Europe for 5 weeks soon and would like something small from every city :)

Tacky fridge magnets. The more kitsch the better. Snow dome fridge magnets are the holy grail.

On the more serious side I try and pick up a quality piece of art everywhere I go. Not always successful in that quest so I have the fridge magnets to remind me.

Respiratory infections, sadly, lately.

I have this really good one from Scotland last year. Anyone want it?

Last year I picked up a small stone jaguar in Mexico. When I brought it home I wasn't quite sure what to do with it, but one way or another it ended up in the fish tank. Looks great and now I am on the lookout for other statues from my travels to join it.

We always try to find a nice piece of hand crafted timber, such as a bowl, box, etc. Unfortunately can sometimes be awkward and or heavy to transport. Tacky fridge magnets are a must! We used to pick up matchbooks from various restaurants, etc but you don't see them as much these days.

Snap, thmoore! We also collect Christmas decorations :-) It doesn't necessarily have to be an actual intended Christmas decoration, but something representative of that place which can be hung on the Christmas tree. For instance, from Berlin we got an Ampelmann key ring :-)

I get little watercolour paintings, everytime I walk down the hallway I can see where we've been.

Yorkfoodie.. l just love german xmas decos .. I even have a pickle .. rules for this are that whoever finds the pickle hidden among all the other decorations on the tree gets an extra gift.

We got to Cologne too far after xmas to get 'proper, decorations so I have a carnivale clown.
