Brisbane to Dubbo Return. Motorhome. 2 kids. Itinerary?

Hi folks

We're thinking of hiring a motorhome at the end of the year and doing a self-drive from Brisbane to Dubbo (for the zoo) and back again.

Am happy to do the coastal route on the way down, though we want to avoid Sydney -- maybe Blue Mountains instead?

On the way home, we'd like to come the inland route and stop in at my folks in Kingaroy before coming home to Brisbane.

Any ideas for spacing the drive there and back? Things to do/see that would interest 4.5 and 2.5 year old girls?

We can budget about 10-14 days, including 3 nights in Dubbo.

Thanks in advance

Kylie

When I travel out that way I enjoy staying at Moree. I normally stay at a motel which has a private hot artesian bore bath. Great Stuff and very therapuedic. People travel a long way to experience them.

Although I'm sure there are also public baths available.

Consider also a side trip up through Walgett to Lightning Ridge. A very interesting town which has a nice water park. (Also artesian bore baths lol)

Beach8um,

Which motel with spa(s) in Moree have you visited and enjoyed?

Hi Flyer,

The 2 motels that I prefer to stay at when in Moree is the Artesian Spa Motor Inn and the Dragon & Phoenix Motel (Best Western I believe).

Both these motels are well located with unreal hot spa pools and good on-site restaurants.

They are not luxury, but good honest motels.

I always enjoy staying in either actually and the town of Moree is nothing special.
