Brisbane to Sydney in May

Hi,

we have 12 nights to travel from Brisbane to Sydney with two teenagers and would like to spend some time relaxing - like three to four nights in one place. How should we break up our trip, and what are some suggestions of towns to stay in?

thanks fo your help.

Maybe Byron Bay 2 or 3 nights....not just a beach, inland drives to rain forest and colourful villages, plus the light house walkl at byron.

Yamba/Maclean 2 nights,

Coffs Harbour 3 nights include Bellingen

Port macquarie 2 nights

Newcastle or nelson bay area 2 more nights

really 4 nights isnt really needed anywhere along the route, especially in winter and as you get further south with chance of colder and maybe wet weather.

thats sticking pretty m8ch to the coast, you could venture inland at some stage but then think colder temps and less need to stay longer nights.,

in May after Byron, and even there if you are prepared to not get first choice, you could just book as you go and let the weather guide you where and how long to stop. Prepare ahead of time....and maybe using sites like wotif or booking.com or hotelclub.com just book ahead the night before....but have a plan of 2 or 3 accommodations you would prefer in each location to save research time on the road.

Hi,

Have a read through the link below for additional information regarding this coastal route.

Your teenagers would love Port Stephens, Port Macquarie, Yamba, Byron bay, Coolangatta & Broadbeach.

Byron Bay & the Gold Coast (Coolangatta / Broadbeach) are ideal towns for teenagers.

The Gold Coast Qld will be slightly warmer than NSW.

thank you for your help. The more I look the more I realize that there is so much to see and do, 12 days might not be enough to do it justice. Maybe I would be better off going no lower than Coffs harbour and seeing some of the inland areas as well.
