now it's the new domestic baggage system in sydney.
they cant take a trick, can they?
Well, maybe you feel they can't, but still, with a bleeding great hole in the side of the plane, they managed to land safely without a life lost or even a serious injury, so I guess that's better than some airlines could have done!
And I expect they're not the only airline in the world to suffer baggage problems. That's been going on since there was baggage to carry. I remember Spielberg's movie, "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" spawned an airline joke: a close encounter of the first kind is where you see a spaceship, a close encounter of the second kind is where you touch one, and a close encounter of the third kind is where you actually go inside a spaceship. But waht's a close encounter of the fourth kind? That's where you go inside and they lose your luggage.

should say 90 min (hate that wireless keyboard!)
gosh imagine what level FF you;d be with 90m flights!
TBH it doesnt sound as bad as the farcical scenes we had in the UK when BA opened the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow.
Ah well! To discount the line by Dustin Hoffman in the 1988 movie "Rainman":
Remembered it a a jewel of local history when I was just a wee lad. As the article says - the crash was pushed off the front pages of newspapers by the bombing of Darwin.
Do I get a wooden spoon for stirring?
ACt I'm not support Q in any way...
i'm just sick of some posters flogging the proverbial dead horse ar making totally disparaging comments about contributions by other posters,,,
TBh this belongs on the airline forum which was started by TA to stop non destination related posts...
the baggage system in Sydney at both terminals has been suffering glitches for the past 14 months...the new system is bound to have a few probs...most new systems do...
ask about the hi tech US war aircraft that had software which automatically turned the plan upside down when it crossed the equator...now that is something to worry about..didn't happen until they actually ran a flight... ( for quite few years this was high classified info so googling prob wont bring any resluts guys)
no mistakes = no learning no learning = no progress ...take your pick
I have booked 3 flights with Quantas in October/Novemeber, I chose them because I thought they where the best oh and the price was good!! I have fingers, toes and internal organs crossed in the hope that I chose well, have to say I am more than slightly edgy now after all the postings re Quantas.
Janey, don't panic,
as i said earlier there are some posters on this board who are so totally negative about Qantas they will pick and bring every little glitch to our attention and ignore any problem other carriers may be having.
Note there have been no comments by the OP poster about the fantastic way the "mid air incident"was handled.
Janey, the Q CEO summed it up in one sentence...the current financial situation and global economy will make it difficult for business...
Virgin has just been sold but no one mentioned that on the forums AFAIK
Guruswife, did you delete your own post (a few above)? I recall reading it when it was "new", and I can't imagine that the moderator would have found it objectionable for any reason... you're hardly the type to use profanities (except at home, towards Guru), and there was certainly nothing vcery controversial about what you said. So I can only imagine that you deleted it yourself, and, if so, I'd love to know.... HOW DOES ONE DO THAT? I can think of a few of my own posts that I rather wished, a few minutes after posting, that I had re-worded(to put it mildly), but I've always just had to turn away from them resignedly in the hope that eventually they'd sink so far down in the liist that nobody would notice. Now, if only I could "get at" them.....
