Shuttle airport to hotel

How do you get a shuttle from airport to your hotel? Do you pre-arrange one? Are they lined up out the door? We will be arriving from Hobart,so that would be the domestic terminal? Cash only?

Pay the driver, or a booth to pay and get a ticket?

Thanks, Bethann

A taxi would probably be your best bet. $25AUD approx. to the city/CBD (assuming thats where your hotel is located).

Shuttles sre a lot more expensive

If A$ 25 can reach CBD, then it's cheaper that airport train..is that so?

Is there any traffic jam in sydney?

Well, of course it depends on how many passengers there are and what time of the day or night you are travelling. Sydney traffic can be hectic, so if you arrive in peak hour, then the taxi may not be the best choice. The rail from the domestic airport to the city is $14 each and the bus from the domestic to your hotel (in the city) is $13 each. http://kst.com.au/airport.php

Our hotel recommended the KST shuttle bus as well. I didn't catch it from the airport, but I did for my return trip. It was $12 and the hotel and it all went smoothly.

If there is only yourself then it is cheaper to get the shuttle.

After luggage collection exit the front doors and turn right, walk to the end of the footpath and cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and you will see signs for the shuttles - and generally there are a few already parked there filling up.

Pay the driver. Its $12 one way and cheaper to buy a return ticket. Yes pay cash.

You can queue at a desk inside and pay with credit card but its a multi function desk and I have managed to be stuck behind people asking the girl to ring every hotel in the CBD etc - much easier to go straight out to the drivers themselves. They are all contracted to the one company anyway.

If you are staying at a "chain" hotel ie Hyatt, Hilton, Ibis etc etc make sure you have the full name and street address to ensure you end up at the right one as there are multiples in the CBD - particularly Ibis's.

If there is more than one of you its generally easier and cheaper to join the taxi queue - which you will see as soon as you exit the luggage collection doors. Taxis use cash or credit or debit cards.
