Follow up : Three Restaurants/3 Nights Help!

Help! I've gotten amazing information from this one post and first, i want to thank you all. Now..I truly need someone to give me a strong opinion for the one Saturday night (the 2nd night..most important..anniversary..day after jet-lag) ...and this is also the night we will go for the bucks for a top restaurant.

I just want to add that I have been in France for work every two months for the past 8 years and I've eaten at the 'best' throughout the entire nation... so I tend to stay away from French cuisine outside of France.

I can get a table for the two of us at the following

EST - recommended by an Australian friend and sounds pretty good!

Tetsuya - well....it seems to be everyone's favorite

Chef's Galley

Sydney Cafe

Ms G's

Devonshire

What would you pick....help a confused yank out :)

Tets or est - others aren't in the same class food wise. (Cafe Sydney front tables do have fantastic views!)

Tets' and Quay are the only two restaurants in Australia to hit the S Pellegrino top 50 in the world. www.theworlds50best.com/awards/1-50-winners

I haven't been to Quay, but a night at Tetsuyas is more than a meal - it's a memorable experience. However, you original post said you were coming next month and I doubt you would get a reservation for a Saturday night on such short notice. I suspect the same might be true of Quay. In Sydney (as everywhere) if it's good it's busy so I'd book soon.

You are all wonderful

It is either EST or Quay for Saturday night

And so far for Sunday night...we can only get into China Doll

I am not big on touristy...that being said..if the food really covers the asian palate and it is of high quality....why not? :)

I'd prefer the Redlantern for the Sunday night!

Both EST and QUAY are great but if only one, then I recommend QUAY. Enjoy whichever you choose.

China Doll is really good - don't be too disappointed! Red Lantern can be very hard to get a booking, due to Luke Nguyen's television profile (& even that of the head chef Mark Jensen).

If you can get Quay for a sat. night I'd book asap - you might be lucky & see fireworks as well!

Another Quay Peter Gilomore is one of the few celeb chefs who still overlooks his kitchen

IMHO Est is over rated and Tetsuyas is a poor Japanese imitation, nice but not gobsmacking for the $$
