Thanks. We will be staying at the Sydney Harbour Marriott at Circular Quay. Is there a movie theater in the area?

Is the Dendy Opera Quays Theater at 2 East Circular Quay near the Marriott?

I can't buy tickets yet on their website. Any idea when I can buy tickets for July 13? Thanks.

The Dendy at Circular Quay is a short walk, and specialises in art house, but they may well be showing Harry Potter as well. http://www.dendy.com.au/

The main cinema district in Sydney is just south of Town Hall station.

It will also likely be showing at IMAX, on the big screen. http://www.imax.com.au

Event Cinemas in George Street has tickets available (3 in Gold Class, as I type, but by the time I finish, there may be none ...) here's the link

https:/…ticket.asp

Gold Class will cost you AUD$39 per ticket (plus booking fee); ordinary seats will be less (about AUD$20 I expect, plus booking fee). I didn't check the number of seats available in the non-Gold Class cinemas.

Good Luck :-)

Hi MarmaladeT,

I just purchased tickets for 12:02 am!!

So we will see it at 12:02 am and then go to bed, get up have a nice day and see it again at 3 in the afternoon. Without your help, I probably would have just tried to buy them when we arrived in Sydney and they would have all been sold out.

We all just love the Harry Potter movies and this is going to be so memorable to see it in Sydney. And it will be 2 days before it opens in the States so my kids can text their friends who will still have to wait another day or two to see it. Much Thanks!!! Lynn

Glad to be of help :-) I hope you enjoy the movie - I'll be going to see it too, but definitely NOT at midnight LOL (and not in the CBD; I'll go to my local United cinema at Narellan, where "Grand" seats [same as Gold Class] are only $20 :-)
