I finally have flight and hotel booked for my trip to Oz in March. I will have 6 days/nights in Sydney and Cairns each. For Sydney, i have a good estimate on what I want to do,but wondering some things...
1. Which activity is best to do on arrival day? Ive made the mistake of overplanning on other intl trips, but dont want to waste day sleeping!! I get into SYD at 8am,so I know I'll at least have to kill 6-7 hrs before I can check into hotel. My initial possibilities were:
-One of the beaches(lounge day)
-Walk around Darling Harbour/Circular Quay
-One of either: Sydney Aquarium,Wildlife World, or Taronga Zoo
-other suggestions welcome!!
2.Backing up a bit, what is the cheapest or easiest transport option from SYD to CBD?(My hotel is near QVB). If its the subway,is it luggage friendly?
3.For Blue Mountain tours,Ive seen several companies, but wondered which were recommended. Im traveling solo, otherwise I'd figure a way to go myself, but dont know if its safe to hike around solo or if there are busier areas. Otherwise, for a tour,I'd like a combo that has some mild/moderate hiking but gets to see the 3 sisters, rainforest and/or waterfalls. I know a lot of the tours include the Featherdale Animal Park, but if Im going to all of the abovementioned places, plus Koala sanctuary in Cairns/Kuranda,is this place still a must-see?
4.For nightlife,Im not really a big partier-what suggestions does anyone have for a 30 something female? I dont mind going to a bar once or twice as long as its safe and I dont stabd out too much, but wanted options other than going back to my hotel.
Thanks for info,Im sure Ill be on here more in the coming weeks!!!
