Breakfast near Hyde Park AND quality dinners near casino

I'm staying on Hyde Park and would like some suggestions for good breakfast places near there. Also one night we are planning on going to the casino (including a visit to Adriano Zumbo's) so would like to either have dinner there or close by, even at cocklebay wharf would be good. Nothing too expensive as we have a dinner booked at Aria already so this dinner should be affordable but good quality. Would also welcome suggestions of dinner places around Hyde Park too.

darling harbour affordable and good quality really dont go together .

On a Tuesday if you like mussels maye you can book for the all you can eat at Bungalow 8 (if this is still on offer) firther along on king st wharf though

there are a few places in the surrounds like the Little Snail (haven't been in a while and dont know current pricing ..it used to be a gem) and some pubs you might check out.

I guess affordable means different things to different people. I don't want to be paying Aria prices, happy to pay for good quality but don't want silver service again. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated, does not have to be on darling harbour as we could eat closer to hyde park before we go.

Are you on the CBD or Eastern side of Hyde Park? If the latter, there are hundreds of restaurants through Darlinghurst & Surry Hills.

For instance, if you were staying at the Hyde Park Plaza suites, it's less than 10 minutes walk to Bentley Bar & Restaurant, http://goo.gl/maps/NCmYB

Or you could walk towards Central Railway & try Berta www.berta.com.au

Spice I am is teriffic and about 15 mins walk http://goo.gl/maps/jeJBt

That's just 3 off the top of my head in the area. All good & all good value for $ in MY opinion. Yours may differ. As GW says, "good value" is a very subjective term.

There are also lots of pubs offering cheap & cheerful "pub grub" meals. The Forresters is one. http://goo.gl/maps/xB6y2 www.forresters.com.au

The Clock Hotel, another http://goo.gl/maps/xB6y2 www.clockhotel.com.au

There are decent places in Darling Harbour - I've had enjoyable food there at a number of places - Georges (very tasty IMO), Blackbird Cafe, Zaafran, one of the Thai restaurants there (the name escapes me at the moment) . Suggest you have a look around and decide for yourself whether its expensive - I don't believe so. Malaya has also been recommended by others
