public transport in sydney

I will be in sydney on nov 6 for 3 nights. Then I will board royal carribean cruise for 14 nights. Need help on:

1) Public transport from sydney kingsford smith international airport to St Mark's lodge at Rae Street, Randwick. My luggage is not big.

2) From St marks lodge to cruise terminal to embark voyager of the seas

3) travel around sydney during my stay before cruising - public transport

4) Is breakfast/food convenient near my hotel?

5) is there any shopping mall with supermarket because I love Australia fruits?

6) What is the season fruit in sydney now?

Hi,

Why on earth are you staying at a lodge serving hospital patients and their families? Surely a hotel in the city close to the ship's berth would have made more sense? BTW a "please" and "thank you" in your questions may see more replies.

I too am surprised that with such a short stay you would choose such an out of the way lodging. You're going to be spending a long time each day just getting to and from the city where most of the tourist attractions are.

Your welcome ;-)

There are no trains in Randwick, only buses. In my experience bus drivers never announce the stops, and if the street you are after is even slightly off their route they will have no idea about the directions. So I agree with the first poster that for the first day at least you must use a taxi. If you become more familiar with the Randwick area in subsequent days, then you may be able to use the bus to get to the city and back.

I'd be using a taxi, (about $50 depending on time of day)

but for the record...

train to Central then the 374 from Eddy Ave.

here's a set of traffic lights at the corner of Allison Rd and Avoca st, Marecliin College will be on your right..

20pp approx

Or the 400 bus from the terminal you will need to walk a bit from the bus stop at Allison Road and Cook St (buy a my bus 3 travel 10)

there's a shopping comPlex just down Avoca St

400 bus from airport a good cheap option. bit of a suburban tour but probably no longer than train to city connecting bus to Randwick option.

Randwick has good food options.

Ask your hotel for directions to Clovelly. nice lesser known beach suburb.

Frequent buses to/from city. Most will be prepaid tickets.

Seek out suburban fruit shops in streets near accommodation rather than shopping mall supermarkets for best fruit options.

Hi,

Where do I buy the prepaid card?

How does this prepaid card works? Is it charge to card when we take the bus?

Does Sydney have unlimited day pass for train and bus combined?

How far from the lodge to cruise terminal? What is the best option - public transport. How much if I were to take taxi there?

the search box directly above your first post will help your find answers to all these questions.

Please remember the people on the Sydney forum are not travel agents - just a bunch of volunteers who help where possible.

And they really like it when you say please and thankyou

no Sydney transport isnt that smart. you simply pre buy single regular tickets or multi trip passes. readily available at convenience stores etc. and I understand at the airport.
