Rain in late February

I plan to visit in late February and I feel that 2 nights, giving me almost 48 hours in Uluru, is all I need, but is it likely that rain will spoil any sunrise/ sunset viewing? At that time of year, does it rain continuously or are there specific patterns of rain? I could manage 3 nights there if necessary.

As the area is a desert it is highly unlikely that you would get continuous rain over a 2 day period, if fact it is unlikely you will get any rain at all.

Only 1% of visitors to Uluru are lucky enough to see the spectacle of rain on the rock (yes that's right, I would consider this to be good luck not bad - but maybe that's just me).

Thanks for the reply. I thought I had read that Feb/ March was the "rainy season". I also looked at a few weather websites that showed rain for the next few days!! Now I am reading that Uluru only has about 308mm per year, somewhat less than the UK average! Anyway, I have now booked there for 2 nights, so that gives me an extra day on the east coast.

Feb/March is the rainy season in the northern part of the NT which has a tropical climate. However the climate is very different in central Aus.

Very easy to get confused from the other side of the world though. If in doubt ask :)
