What time of the day / night are you coming through?

Suggestions for day time would be Museum, Stokes Hill Wharf for lunch, Fish Feeding if the tide is correct. Parap Markets, Nightcliff or Mindil beach markets dependant upon the day of the week / time.

If it is early hours of morning then I would suggest early breakfast at Airport Inn (commences at 3am), or stay for a couple of hours in a dorm room.

Try Crocodylus Park, and croc farm, near the airport and a great way to kill 5 hours

How about a night helicopter ride around Darwin at night?

If it is during the day walk over to the Darwin Airport Resort Hotel which is only about 350 metres away and have a swim or relax by the pool which is in a lovely setting just through the reception area.
