Where to Stay

Hubbie and I are looking for a place to stay for 5 nights on the beach in Qld.All we request is ocean views, walk to restaurants and ideally adults only or not a lot of kids around. We have just turned 50 and like to wine and dine each night. We will have already spent a week at Sunshine Beach(Noosa) so would be handy to go from there to our next locality?

Are you flying / driving ???

Port Douglas in Nth Qld would be ideal regarding your requirements or Byron Bay.

Pretty hard not to get kids not around... you would have to go to a secluded island like Wilson Island.

Flying Sydney to Noosa, so no car.

Happy to get a hire car to travel once we leave Noosa.

Rainbow Beach and Hervey Bay are just a few hours drive but know one seems to mention these places in other forums.

Any reason why?

Rainbow Beach would be a good spot but fairly quiet - not a lot of restaraunts.

Accomodation here is not on the beach but moreso overlooking the beach.

Hervey Bay overlooks a tidal bay, so when the tide is out, you take a cut lunch to get to the water - if you get my drift! You could drive south to Mooloolaba, where there are plenty of cafes etc, with top accommodation overlooking the Ocean - or to Caloundra at Kings Beach, or the headland at Moffat Beach. These are around 30 to 45 minutes south of Noosa, traffic depending.

I would suggest Agnes Water & Town of 1770 on QLD Discovery coast- great beaches and not too developed

Don't spend your time driving....just go down to Mooloolaba.

I (older than you) have kids and don't find Mooloolaba as kid friendly as other places. While there go to the yacht club and sign up to crew on a yacht for one of their afternoon races. (You're mostly just mobile ballast). If you tire of the beach then day a day trip up to the hinterland. If you are up for something energetic but not overly strenuous then climb Mt Tibrogagan.
