Hi AucklandFlo

You'll need to catch a bus to Loganholme and then another one to IKEA. It takes about an hour. Easiest way to do this is use the Journey planner on the Translink website. Just put in "city" and "ikea" for the from and to respectively.

Info from the IKEA website:

Public bus service to IKEA Logan

Catch The Bus To IKEA Logan!

The Logan city bus service via route 552 is now operating through IKEA Logan. The bus arrives at the bus stop right in front of the store hourly everyday. Woodridge and Kingston railway stations are also on the route so now it is so much easier to catch public transport to IKEA Logan. Please visit translink website [ http://www.translink.com.au/ ] or call 131230 for more information.

This is the website for the Logan Ikea store - the largest in the southern hemisphere and a great place to pick up some funky little bargains....

Public transport is certainly an issue - you could catch a bus from the CBD, but it is about 25 kms ;

If you plan on buyng anything bulky they do have a delivery service ( again see their website), but its not cheap....
