Where too after Brisbane???

Hi everyone. In October we are spending one week in Brisbane, the plan was to stay on Moreton Island for 4 days after this but I cannot get any accomodation there, they mostly seem to book for a full week or they just ignore my many e-mails so my question is this, where shall we go next?? we are 2 fiftyish couples and we like to relax but we also like sightseeing and have previously visited Tasmania and Wilson Prom and the Great Ocean Road so I think you get an idea of what we like.

We have 2 weeks and would like to see as much as possible spending a few days here and a few there. Any suggestions/recomendations would be great, we also like to stay in houses or cottages not hotels but really we would look at all options. If anyone can recomend anywhere on Moreton Island that would be good because I have still not ruled it out.

Thanks in advance

jane

Hi Jane

Have you tried a privately owned villa?

http://www.tangaloomavillas.com/

Also you could try a holiday house on Moreton at Bulwer though you would need your own 4wd.

Have you considered a holiday home on Stradbroke Island? good walks, fantastic beaches, beautiful environment. Oct is a great time of year to visit with the added bonus of whales passing by.

Hi Surfoz, I have tried the villas with no success and we do not plan to take a car. I do like the other option you have mentioned it sounds just what we like, I will look into it.

Many thanks

Jane

If you are looking for beach front accommodation on Straddie try http://www.discoverstradbroke.com.au - the Claytons apartments are fantastic and right there!

Good luck

We had a glorious three-night stay last October in Sea Change house on Moreton Island, in the residential estate above Tangalooma Resort.

Another one that we've stayed in before is Island Getaway house.

Contact the Moreton Island Ray White agent for bookings. http://www.moretonislandholidayrentals.com/ The general rule is a minimum three-night stay.

It might also be worth contacting Moreton Island Real Estate about privately owned villas near the resort http://www.moretonislandrealestate.com/.
