Cairns, Great Barrier Reef, Sailing

Hi everyone.

I'm new to TripAdvisor, and not very keen on finding my way around the forums yet. Unfortunately, I'm short on time, so please advise if you can. And I apologize if this has been discussed before...

I will be going to Cairns w/ 3 friends, we're in our late 20s. We would like to spend the majority of our time in the water if possible, like maybe a 3 nights sailing trip on the Great Barrier Reef? If that exists. Can anyone suggest a good boat/sailing vessel that will allow us maximum snorkeling time?

We will be going mid-June for a week.

Is there great jelly fish danger during this time?

Thanks so much in advance!

June is out of stinger season (October to May) so you should be fine. You could still hire a stinger suit if you're worried.

its easy to navigate the forum just put one key word in the box at top of page, such as snorkeling, or Great Barrier Reef or sailing and hit go! all previous questions will come up and you can click on whatever you think suits you, then you can read all the responses, same with 'things to do' and 'hotels' in the column on the left. hope this helps
