Great Barrier Reef Sailing

Can anyone advise me on what the sailing trips are like with Passions of Paradise or Ocean Spirit Cruises. The sound good on the web sites. Want to get the most of a trip but not pay a fortune but also get some good snorkling. The other alternative is Green Island but my boss has just got back and was not very impressed. Would love some advice.

Also we are going to Cairns tomorrow what is the weather like at the moment, hot or wet.

Green Island is for the newbies and Jap tourists. Go to Port Douglas and the outer reef on Quicksilver for some serious coral and fish. Check weather on www.bom.gov.au It's probably hot and wet so it's nice in the water. Don't know on the cruises but sailing would be slow. The distances to outer reefs require a big motor as nice as sailing is.
