Liveaboard vs day dive

I'm currently looking at liveaboards; however the price range is quite wide due to the ''outer reef'' and diving in other areas like cod hole. Would anyone be able to give me advice on which specific companies to go on? I've been looking at mike ball (the most expensive) to deep sea den, prodive but not sure which one to go with. I'm looking to go for 3 days 2 nights as well and am in Cairns for 9 days.

If you can afford the the price tag attached to companies like Mike Ball jump on it. Pro-Dive are a great company but are more of a dive school where as Make Ball are more indulgence based (I hope that makes sense)

Both are extremely good companies !! Another one worth looking in to is Spirit of Freedom ~ http://www.spiritoffreedom.com.au
