Restaurant recommendations in Port Douglas

Hi. Could I have some recommendations for restaurants in Port Douglas that aren't too expensive for me & my two daughters aged 19 & 22.

We are staying at the Mantra Heritage in the heart of PD & will have a hire car during our stay.

Hiya, we were there about a month ago. We really liked Salsa, the inlet and the tin hut.

All a bit different but good in their own way!

Another vote for Salsa or Bazaar.

Good recommendations, pouletmaison, but the Combined Clubs of Port Douglas is actually called The Tin Shed. On the Inlet and The Tin Shed are next door to each other with magic views overlooking the water - we prefer the Tin Shed and in fact we're going to their members' Christmas party next week!

We also like the Courthouse Hotel for great steaks - not especially 'cheap' but huge meals and we've always found them melt-in-your-mouth good. They also have daily specials. Can be noisy with live music downstairs on the weekend (may suit your daughters!) but it's quieter upstairs on the verandah of their Sunset Lounge.

If you like Asian food as we do The Jade Inn has lovely - authentic - Chinese food - very long established - and we've had mostly fresh, delicious Thai meals (one bad exception) at the Star of Siam. Both reasonably-priced whereas some PD restaurants can tax your wallet!

You should enjoy Mantra Heritage where we've stayed a number of times on our mini-breaks from our own accommodation business. Very central, quiet and easy walking distance to everywhere. It's a bit of 'rabbit-warren' inside so perhaps not ideal for anyone with mobility problems.
