Accidentally coinciding with schoolies - where to stay

My partner and I (both 26 y/o) booked flights to the Gold Coast a few months ago, completely not realising our travel dates would coincide with Schoolies.

We are lucky enough to be staying out in the Currumbin rainforest for most of our visit, but also wanted to stay a few nights in Broadbeach to enjoy the night life and beach.

Can anyone recommend somewhere in that general area, or even in-land a little (we are hiring a car), that we could stay that won't be overrun by schoolies? Which hotels do not accept schoolies, or would have minimal schoolies there? The noise is our main concern, don't care if they're around is in public, but we want a peaceful hotel stay.

Any suggestions welcome. We are looking to pay max $350 per night.

Many thanks, Lauren

Most of the schoolies stay in Surfers or Byron Bay - stay at Broadbeach or further down the coast at Currumbin and you will be fine.

cheers.

And you are much worse off being on the GC during the Gold Coast 600 with the combination of road closures and hoards of motor racing enthusiasts who are of legal drinking age.

The schoolies events these days are very well run and supervised.

cheers.

Pick a few places that look good. Call them and ask them if they accept bookings for schoolies. If they say "no" with some vigour - book them!

Burleigh Heads could be a viable alternative for you. There are very few, if any at all, schoolies there. It is situated about half way along the Gold Coast strip so is very convenient for visiting other spots on the coast. I know for a fact that La Pacifique Apartments, directly across the road from the Surf Club, does not accept schoolies.

As mentioned by others Broadbeach should be okay as most schoolies just go to Surfers Paradise.
