Dunk Island vs Hamilton Island for family?

With 3-4 days to enjoy the Queensland coast on a visit in early June, we are trying to decide on Dunk versus Hamilton Island. One child loves to ride horses which is pro-Dunk, but we also want to enjoy the beach, have a low key easy snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef and relax a little as a family.

Anyone been to both or willing to give advice?

1. Re: Dunk Island vs Hamilton Island for family?

I'd be more inclined to go to Dunk for one reason only

June is winter and the water can be a bit chilly for snorkelling. This of course is my felings based on the fact that in June I struggle staying in the water for longer than about 10 mins,

Hamilton Island will have a greater range of activities for the kids overall and a choice of eating venues.

TBH....line ball call IMHO...but snorkelling is better off Dunk
