Me and my partner are visiting in October for 3½ weeks. We are spending a week in Sydney, flying to Brisbane for 4-5 days and then flying to Cairns for the last week.
Our plans was to drive from Cairns to Port Douglas and base ourself in Port Douglas so we can do a GB tour and also the Daintree. We were looking at the option of ending our trip with 2 nights at Hamilton Island/Airlie Beach/Brampton Island (one of those).... but it doesnt seem possible to get an internal flight from Cairns, we have to fly back to Brisbane.
Does anyone know if you can access the Whitsundays from Cairns/Port Douglas, and if so, how?
