South Molle accommodation

Where should my husband and I stay for a private getaway to South Molle? Close to beach, self contained, for a week, and what time of year is best?

There is no self contained accomm on Sth Molle. I love Sth Molle as an island but be careful the resort isn't looking real crash hot. Might be better off looking at other options. Great cheap accommodation at Airlie, maybe Long Island, you could try Hamilton but is expensive and not really a private getaway. As for time of year generally Sept to December is the nicest, nice and warm at the moment and has been for a while.

Yes... definitely another vote for Airlie Beach. Just take the ferry over for a day trip to Daydream.

DO NOT go to South Molle. It is rundown and the food is disgusting.

Hi Kat,

Have a look at our website for information about accommodation in the Whitsunday area.

Airlie Beach has a large choice of self-contained accommodation for you.

As for what time of year to travel, it depends what you like. It's getting really hot now - we're averaging highs of 30 degrees during the day at the moment, with night time temps of about 20. The wettest months of the year are January - March, when the tropical summer rains come. Winters are generally quite pleasant and you'll often see sunbakers and swimmers enjoying the warm winter sun in the middle of July and August.
