North Adelaide accomodation suitable for older parents

Hi all

My parents are looking for accomodation in Nth Adelaide while they are over for some appointments. I'm having trouble finding a place with a lift and possibly kitchenette as well that are well placed.

I have checked trip advisor, but there are only 7 places listed - I'm sure there would be more?

Many thanks

Hi Julza69,

How mobile are your parents - will they be catching the bus, or taking taxis whilst they're here? Also, a rough budget?

You may be better considering one of the B&Bs if you want somewhere they can cater for themselves, and doesn't involve climbing stairs.

In the meantime, here's a few to make inquires with:

Have you looked at Greenways (check for the lift or a ground floor apartment):

Despite some issues with check in, I would suggest the Majestic Minima. I know they have a lift, I do not believe they have any rooms with a kitchenette but there are a lot of restaurants very close by and for the price of the room at this hotel ($99) for an extremely comfortable king bed it is worth considering.

I wrote a review on this hotel a while back - tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g255093-d144932… - and if you read the other reviews you can see the check in issues they've had.

They also have the Majestic Old Lion apartments and the Majestic Tynte St apartments but those are a lot more expensive in general - the cheapest I can see is 135 for a studio apartment at Tynte st on Wotif but they also go right up to 280+ for one night which is a bit excessive.

Hi - the Adelaide Meridien on Melbourne Street in North Adelaide (www.countryclubs.com.au/adelaide-meridien/) has just had a refurbishment since new owners took over mid year. They have really spacious lead-in room types (not too pricey either) - there are some with basic kitchenette (ie basically just a microwave) but there is also a cafe on the ground level and they have free carparking behind the back of the buidling for people who are staying. Or free bus loop into the city out the front.

Take into account any reviews might be pre-refurb. I dont think your parents would be disappointed staying here.
