Must see/do things

I have made a list of things that i think i should not miss in South Australia

Other than these things listed below, what other MUST things to do should i do/see in South Australia before I leave

Is there anything on this list that is not worth doing?

1. Adelaide Festival of Arts

2. Barossa Valley

3. Kangaroo Island

4. Murray River

5. The Nullarbor Plain

6. Coober Pedy

7. Wilpena Pound

8. The Strzelecki, birdsville and Oodnadatta tracks

9. Lake Eyre

That is quite a comprehensive list. First and foremost - how long do you have?

Secondly, just for information, the Adelaide Festival of Arts will not be held this year; however the Adelaide Festival Fringe, and the Adelaide Film Festival will both be held.

agree with Dr Rudi... Everyone will have a different list of Must See Must Do .. mine for instance would include swimming with sealions or dolphins for instance so it would help to have an idea of your likes/dislikes before we attempt to answer this. The distances you have mentioned are quite vast, Coober Pedy/Lake Eyre/Birdsville... all massive distances away from the main populated areas and quite expensive therefore to access. All the spots you mention are "worth doing" in their own way.. all have something to offer.. but not everyone will appreciate each region for the same regions.

My top ten would be Adelaide itself 2 days minimum Kangaroo Island four days minimum. Barossa Valley/Adelaide Hills drive trip.2 days... , Flinders Ranges (Wilpena Pound) four days minimum, a Houseboat trip on the Murray four days, Swimming with the Sea Life on Eyre Peninsula, two or three days..... visit a festival or event one or two nights... Sleep in an Eco Safari Tent and explore the Gawler Ranges three nights, see McLaren Vale/Fleurieu/Coorong region with a drive and explore trip ttwo to three nights.... Hope that gives you some idea of the minimim time you'd need to get a good idea of each region/experience.

If you have a reasonable budget I'd recommend that any international travellers book an escorted tour with someone like Geoff Scholz .. http://gawlerrangessafaris.com/about_us.htm .. a great way to get an amazing insight into our true Australian Outback.
