After spending a couple of days in Adelaide, in mid March we will have 5 full days before joining a tour which will take us to the Clare Valley, Flinders Rangers and further north. We would like to spend these 5 days visiting Kangaroo Island, Yorke Peninsula, Innes NP and Coorong NP with the possibility of going as far as Mt Gambier. Please can anyone advise if this is doable in 5 days and the best way to do it. We are happy to drive and get accommodation or hire a camper van. Other questions I have are .....
Can you stop anywhere overnight in a campervan and if not are there plenty of permissible places in this area to spend overnight in a campervan?
Is there plenty of reasonable priced accommodation in the areas we want to visit?
Would it be feasible to be based on the coast by Adelaide and drive to these places each day?
We would consider using public transport but do not want to join any tours.
We would be very grateful for any help, suggestions or ideas on the above.
