I'm currently in Sydney and would like to trip to Tasmania for the weekend. With only 2 days, I know it's not enough, but it's the best of what I can get. I will arrive Hobart Saturday morning and fly out Sunday night. I'm looking for drives with natural scenery in particular, such as mountains and coastlines. So far, my plan is :
- is there much coastal scenery along the way from Port Arthur to Freycinet
Day 2 : primarily looking for a scenic drive of mountains and/or coastlines - Huon Valley, Lake Gordon? remainder of the time in Hobart
Had also thought of flying out of Launceston, which is cheaper, but thinking Hobart -> Freycinet (hike up to see Wineglass Bay) -> St. Helens -> Launceston for the evening flight on the same day may be a bit too rushed?
The northern part of the island will probably need to wait for another trip.
