Hi all, would love a Tassie expert to run an eye over this itinerary and pick the eyes out of it. Planning travel from March 15th through to 24th. We are both 60-something gals - not decrepit - but also not into madly strenuous bushwalking, just a few leisurely scenic walks and/or walking to a few lookouts would do us fine.
Day 1 Arrive early in Devonport via Spirit, grab tourist info etc and leisurely drive to digs in Hobart.
Day 2 (Saturday) Salamanca market, waterfront and battery point, MONA gallery and Female Factory
Day 3 Free day visiting extended family - probably picnic in park etc
Day 4 Mount Wellington, Cadbury factory
Day 5 Shot Tower Taroona, ferry to Bruny Island
Day 6 Tasman Peninsula - the whole bit - aim to get to Swansea Lodge for overnight
Day 7 Freycinet Peninsula - then drive via Elephant's Pass for some pancakes to Launceston
Day 8 Cataract Gorge - maybe a river cruise
Day 9 Cradle Mountain, Gunns Plains caves (not sure about this day - might be a bit much) stay in Devonport that night
Day 10 - last day around Devonport - maybe do the Don River railway - otherwise drive to Stanley and do "The Nut"
And hoping you "Tassie devils" are coping okay since those devastating fires!!! Sending love x x
