I have been reading many forum posts and have nuted out what I think is an ok trip for a family of six (2 adults, kids aged 6,4,2 and four months).
We have 12 nights in lovely Tasmania.
Hobart - 3 nights
Launceston - 2 nights
?Day trip to Tamar Valley?
Cradle Mountain - 2 nights
Staying at Granary near Tasmazia
Dove Lake Walk, Enchanted Wood walk, Tasmazia
?Strahan? - i night
Is it worth staying to do a penguin tour?? or miss altogether given railway no longer operates?
?? Other places to visit suitable for small children?
?Queenstown - 1 night
WOuld love to do the Wilderness Railway assuming it is up and running (website says running from 6th of Jan)
Nelson Falls (ok for kids?)
?Franklin River walk
Derwent Bridge - 1 night
Wall of wilderness
Lake St Clair boat cruise
Huon Valley - 2 nights
Staying at a farm stay near Cygnet
?Bruny Island Cruise?? ???Too much for kids???
Hobart - 1 night
Salamanca markets (Saturday)
Return rental car etc
Early flight back to Perth next morning
Would appreciate any feedback esp advice for places to stay/stop/break up travel from Cradle Mountain back to Hobart/Huon Valley. Trying to keep driving legs short for the kids (and our sanity).
