Where to stay near Cradle Mountain

We are looking to drive from Hobart to Cradle Mountain. Hoping to stay 2 nights somewhere nearby. I have left if a bit late and most of the accommodation at Cradle Mountain is booked out.

Can anyone recommend an area to stay, near Cradle Mountain that is on route from Hobart?

Thanks!

We stayed at a great apartment in Devonport. It's a large, independent section of an old Victorian house, very comfortable with plenty of space, great bathroom. Could look up the link if you're interested.

What's your budget, and adding to the others Sheffield, Mole Creek and Deloraine.

Rob our budget is around $300/night. I was hoping to stay somewhere close to Cradle Mountain as a 4 hour round trip is not appealing.

Cradle Mountain is five hours drive from Hobart. If you want to drive the five hours, book two nights at Cradle and spend an entire night there. If you want to break the journey, just spend a daytime at Cradle and stay at any of the places mentioned (excluding Devonport, which is not on the way).

There is no cheap accommodation at Cradle because it is remote. Anywhere that is within cooee is also expensive if it is even slightly tolerable.

Keep searching at Cradle. You have said, "<most> of the accommodation ... is booked out" (my emphasis). Book whatever is not booked out. It's all acceptable.

Hi Sparky, I was hoping you would say no limit :o) Near Sheffield on the way to Cradle Mountain is a wonderful place called Eagles Nest, OK it's dearer than your $300pn, the views are stunning, and the accommodation, not bad

Have you checked Lemonthyme, it between a 25 to 30 minute drive to Cradle Village, as Lugi said, you'll to book whatever you can that's available.

Have a look at the web site below for accommodation within an easy reach of Cradle Mt -
