North West tasmania advice please

Hi

We are planning a trip south mainly to stay four days at Corinna in the Tarkine and 6 days on King Island. Arriving at Launceston we will leave for King Island from Burnie.

It has been suggested that we should visit Deloraine, Mole Creek, Sheffield, Stanley, Marawah and Arthur River areas on our drive to the Tarkine

Starting in Launceston and travelling slowly, how many days should we allow to get to Corinna, and would appreciate from your experience advice on places of interest on the journey and places to stay overnight

Cheers

You will be going past Cradle Mountain on that route, so it would be worthwhile stopping there. Perhaps you could spend a day getting to Cradle via Deloraine and Mole Creek, stay there overnight, then spend part of a day seeing Cradle the next day before continuing on to Corinna.

On the way from Corinna to Burnie, head north up the Western Explorer Road (if you are travelling after Easter when it's planned to re-open) to Arthur River, then Marrawah, then to Stanley and on to Burnie. stay at Stanley overnight.

We've just returned from 3 nights at Corinna. We loved it!

We stayed at Mole Creek on the way - at Blackwood Park Cottages. They are fantastic.
