5 nights & 4 nights in Tasmania- public transport possible?

My friend and I are going to Tasmania later this year, but neither of us can drive.

Apart from local day tours (which I note are very expensive!), would it be possible for us to visit places using public transport such as:-

1) Huon Valley (Tahune Airwalk); or

2) Bruny Island?

Thanks in advance!

HI rex,

Tasmania's better suited to driving a car, if you can't have a look at the "Top questions about Tasmania" especially the item on "Public Transport in Tasmania".

Besides cars being the better way to travel, day tours would be the next best.

In the "Public Transport in Tasmania link, check out bus companies like Evans.

As mentioned by RobT hiring a car will give you the best experiences. However there are plenty of tours available especially from Hobart. With 4 days you could see heaps of Hobart major attractions without using a car & just doing day tours. ie...

Bruny Island - easily reached from Hobart.
