Actually I wonder if the poster is referring to Foster, a small town in South Gippsland.

There is a bus service that runs from Melbourne to Yarram and it goes through Foster on the way. However, I'm not sure how you get from Yarram to Lakes Entrance without having to come back through Melbourne, unless there is a more local service that gets you back to the Princes Highway either to Traralgon or Sale. From there you can easily get to Lakes Entrance.

Try vline.com.au - they cover public transport (bus and train) in regional Victoria.

Bus to Leongatha, bus to Morwell, then train

www.vline.com.au/pdf/timetables/yarram.pdf

vline.com.au/maps-stations-stops/…east.html

or bus to Dandenong and then train... (may be simpler)

Sounds like fun!
