Transport from Airport to East Bentleigh

Hi. Just looked at airport shuttle and for 3 of us is $66 dollars to Morrabbin. How much would a taxi be?? How does this price compare to a taxi from Airport to East Bentleigh? Thanks.

Depends where in East bentleigh but at least $75-80 if not more

See if you can find a "transfer service" (at least $70)

There is no cheaper way!!!

I'm guessing way more than $75 for a taxi. It's $60 just to Southbank so I would think closer to $90 to E. Bentleigh. The FAPAS bus stops in Moorabin but I doubt it would be less than $66 for 3. That's a good price. You would probably pay nearly that for public transport.

I agree, taxi to East Bentleigh will be closer to $100. Where have you found the $66 price for the 3 of you to Moorabbin? Is it with FAPAS? If so, make sure they drop you at the station so you can get a taxi to East Bentleigh.

Another option would be Skybus to the city, then train to Moorabbin & taxi from there. With 3 of you this may not be much of a cost saver though.

You could also try ptv.vic.gov.au and see if you can find your way via public transport. Depending on how much luggage you have you may not want to do this, but you could theoretically get the Skybus from the airport to the city then get a Metro train to East Bentleigh. You can pick up a myki visitor pack from the PTV Hub desk at Southern Cross Station, which is the station the Skybus takes you to in the city.

This idea is not cost or time effective for 3people At $17for sky bus plus $14 for the myki x 3 plus getting from the metro station and changes etc Not a decent option as anyone on this side of town knows!!!!!

www.ptv.vic.gov.au shows that during weekdays, the Route 901 SmartBus (NOT Skybus) departs from bay 7 of T1 (at the far end of the Qantas terminal) every 15 minutes. On weekends and after 9pm on weekdays it is every half hour.

Buy a $6 myki card on board from the bus driver; load it with A$8 in fares (cash only). Change after 15 minutes at Broadmeadows railway station to a Flinders Street bound Metro train (Craigieburn line); travel to Flinders Street (if morning) or Southern Cross only (if afternoon, weekdays) and change to a Frankston line train to Bentleigh.

At Bentleigh board westbound SmartBus route 703 from the bus stop 20 metres from the three track railway line.

Much cheaper than a taxi and environmentally friendly. Don't forget to touch on your myki on a bus and importantly to touch off when alighting. At railway stations use the station validators to touch on and touch off.

If with children, mykis are only $3 to buy while the Zone 1 plus 2 fare will be about half that of an adult fare.

Sadly, the cost of the myki smartcard is not refundable.

To be fair, Victorianlad you should make some mention of the fact that the PTV option, while cheap and environmentally friendly, will take round about 2-2.5 hours. After a long flight, not everyone wants to add this time to their trip in order to save a few dollars.
