Small sea side town

Hello.. I am arriving Perth mid December for 6 weeks and wish to find some small seaside town to hang out in and fish from the beach. No need to mention a good friendly pub would also be a plus.

I live aboard a sailboat on the British Columbia coast and could sure use a bit of sunshine.

Denmark, which is about a four hour drive south of Perth. Lovely little place.

Agree Denmark and maybe even Walpole. Albany is a larger town and a possibility. Perhaps even Bremer Bay for something very different to BC. Although it is summer these southern coastal towns can have both hot and cooler days. Great fishing areas but be very safe with rock fishing in these parts. IMO they are much more attractive places than the towns heading north from Perth-others might have a different view.

Bear in mind that anywhere south will be packed with city/metro dwellers from mid December through to mid Feb...

Cervantes and Jurien would also be the kind of vibe you are seeking.

Yep, Id go for Esperance too if the distance isnt a factor. Some awesome beach fishing can be had. Even if you dont get a bite, the beaches are so gorgeous you wont care :) Alternatively you can also fish off the town jetties. Downside is the winds can get pretty strong in the afternoons.

2nd choice would be Denmark. You have the option of beach fishing at Ocean Beach or the more serene estuary fishing. Denmark is also a perfect location for sightseeing the southern coastline, forests and towns.

Lastly I'll throw in Augusta. A very small coastal town but again having beach and estuary fishing (on which AJ has had some very successful sessions:)). Not a lot happens in Augusta though...its a very quiet town.
