Accommodation around Cable Beach

We are going to Broome for a wedding at Cable Beach. thinking that the resort is out of our price range is there any accommodation close to the resort that is reasonably priced.

Is it necessary to hire a car to get into town or is there public transport, plus how far is it to walk.

Are there restuarants around the resort that are well priced.

Most accommodation at CB is horrendously expensive - but I think they have cabins at the Palm Grove caravan park . May be worth looking into.

There arent many restaurants but we found the Zoo cafe to have the best food and to be more reasonably priced than either the resort or Zanders on the beach.

The bus runs from CB to Broome every half hour I think and from memory cost about $2.50. Its 8 km so really too far to walk.

Just a few other suggestions to add to your list.

There is a local shuttle bus which conveniently runs an hourly day service 7 days per week, all year round - with bus stops near to all major accommodation on our way through Town Beach, Chinatown, Boulevard Shops and Cable Beach.

The bus stop is directly across the road from Cable Beach Resort.

From May - October, an extra bus runs every 1/2 hour during the busiest time of the day.

The bus is now 3.50...not too expensive, but they also offer a $10 all day ticket, which is better value, because if you go to town from cable beach, thats $7 there and back, for the extra $3 you can use the bus as a tour, and get off at a few locations, such as the museum at the city beach, the town centre, matso's brewery cable beach for a drink and/or swim and then back to your accommodation!!
