A bit of a crystal ball question!!!

In your research you will have noted it is wet season. The road is sealed the whole way, however, along the way there are creeks which will flood/or may not..These may delay your trip. If you are dealyed, you then need to decide how or when you stop until the flooding goes down.

It will be hot and hmid obviously.

Are you planning on doing any of the sites along the way? Many may be inaccessible. Its a long way to drive on the off chance that something may be accessible.

Check the road reports for WA and NT before you go but even then be aware that conditions can change very quickly. Some years there are no problems, other years the highway can be closed for anything from a couple of hours to several weeks if a rain depression/ cyclone is in the area.

Would you know of any small tour operators that run between Darwin and Broome (for 7-14 days)? Looking for a tour with less than 10 people. Camping is OK, but not basic camping. Any suggestion? Appreciate your help

A mate and I were driving down the West Cosst once and were stuck by flooded river for 1 week ended up returning to Darwin, so as posts suggest depends on weather totally

Ummm - Jason the title of this post says it all really - JANUARY 2013. Its been and gone!!!! The OP was 12months ago.

Pam 49 - you would be much better off starting a new thread with your question which bears no relevance at all to the OP who was planning a self drive . There are several companies that run these trips. But Google is your friend and you could start here. http://www.adventuretours.com.au/

I would suggest sending the Broome Visitor Centre an email. I can think of two operators with relatively small groups, Kimberley Wild and Kimberley Adventure Tours which run Broome to Darwin tours.

Both are Broome based tours and are camping, they are normally quite comfortable camps though. Kimberley Adventure Tours tends to attract a younger crowd then Kimberley Wild.
