Wineries stay (Swan Valley or Margaret River)

Thank you for all the contributions we've received reagarding must-do's in Perth.

One of the things we'd really like to do is perhaps an overnight stay at or near one of the wineries. Does anyone have any they could recommend from experience, please? We'll be in the area from 16th March 2008.

Thanks

If you want to stay in the swan valley check out Upper Reach or if the budget goes a little further Hansons.

Swan Valley and Margaret River are about four hours apart by car, they are not in the same region.

We stayed at Bettenays Villas at Cowaramup (very near Margaret River) awhile back and found them very good. They have two or three small lakeside, rustic style cottages and one more modern apartment on a working vineyard.

Unfortunately for you, pre-Easter bookings will be heavy everywhere so you might have to take what you can get.

If money is not an issue then Cape Lodge Margaret River would be the ultimate.
