Actually I would say don't leave anyone (or any animal). People forget these days when they turn the car off, the air con stops and the electric windows don't work either!

We are yet to have any sort of summer, the week ahead is 26 max but with showers or rain forcast for almost every day, will take that over 35+ any day :)

It can be 5-8C cooler down south. eg only 31C predicted for today - very pleasant..... :-) I'll crawl back under my log now.

I would have mentioned animal family members too Perthite but I figured not many tourists would have them in their rental cars.

I am starting a new province (Prince Leonard of Hutt style) in Antarctica if anyone wants to join me - have scoped out the real estate already in the tourist free zones ;)

Yes I thought that too PP but just had to mention the critters. Antarctica, if I can parachute in, would be excellent but perhaps a bit too OTT all year?

I've just finsihed reading a book called Death on the Ice, a fictionalised account of Robert Scott's ill-fated trek to the South Pole. My week in Antarctica was very nice, but I think I'll stay here thank you.
