There are limited B & Bs in Perth. More now than say 10 years ago but still limited and aimed at the higher end .

I had some friends stay here in 2009: www.swanbourneguesthouse.com.au

They were very happy. You are looking at approx 90 pound per night for a twin.

Adelaide, too, does not have a huge choice - not in the sense of a UK B & B. Note in some instances what is marketed as a B & B may not be what you are expecting. There are cottages and units available that will provide you with the ingredients to cook your own breakfast so be aware.

TBH - google is your friend on this one.

Under Perth hotels on TA, click on B & B's ... Durack House is popular and convenient for the train to the city .. so is Nicholson in Subiaco.

You should be aware that here B and Bs are more high end accommodation than budget- for budget accommodation self-catering cottages or apartments are a good option.

Can highly recommend Durack House in Perth. We stayed there last February and got a discount for staying over a week. We found it to be a much better option than staying in city hotels which we had done previously. PM me if you have any questions

We recently stayed at The Port Mill B&B in Fremantle. It is right in the heart of Fremantle so walking distance to everywhere.

It is very lovely and it was a pleasure to stay there. The room was quite small but well thought out. The bathroom was large and did contain a washing machine and dryer so if you are staying a few nights, would be great.

They leave in the room, cakes, tea/coffe/juice/milk, and an array of cereals. On top on this they give you a voucher to have a full breakfast at a cafe over the road.

The B&B is very quiet and you don't hear any street noise at all.

We paid $210 per night, so it is not cheap, but it was really lovely.

Mandurah....????

That's a fair way from Fremantle and the CBD ...

Even though there is a train from Perth to Mandurah, I'd hire a car the whole time.

From Mandurah you'll spend half your time travelling in and out from any sights you want to see.
