Eating out at night in Perth

Can anybody suggest some nice pubs, restaurants, or areas where there is a selection of places to eat in Perth, looking for nice simple food, steaks, Italian, Chinese, Australian.

Basically - head to Northbridge or Fremantle and stroll. Read the menus as you go. Plenty of choices on every street.

Or Fremantle .. heaps of choices and some restuarants overlook the Fishing Boat Harbour.

If you're north, try Sorrento Quay .. a huge complex built over the ocean.

In East Perth, there is some nice eating places at Claisebrook Cove ... I do enjoy eating at the Royal Hotel there.

Hi :)

There are 2 "institutions" for late night dining in Perth-

One is "The Moon Cafe" in Northbridge- they have food you'd expect at a cafe: pasta, parmigiana, steak, salads etc. But they do also offer entertainment on some nights, and are open up to 3:30am (on Fri and Sat nights).

The other is Alfred's in Guildford. About 20mins from the city (probably more convenient if you're staying near Swan Valley!). They basically just do burgers, but they are GOOOOOOD burgers :)

Another solid bet is Burswood (Crown Casino), open all hours, with all types of food and all types of prices.

Maybe also try Victoria Park (Albany Hwy), again, there is a huge mish mash of cuisines on offer.

Another vote for either Fremantle or Northbridge as both destinations offer an array of good choices regarding restaurants.

Hi

Yes, Mt Lawley, Leederville and North Perth can yield some cheaper and better meals IMO. Also Sth Fremantle.

If you are in Perth in the summer time, you might want to check out the Sunset market at Bathers Beach in Fremantle - on every Saturday night from about 5pm with fabulous cheap, fresh food of many descriptions, live music, friendly locals, grass to sit on. And you can enjoya dip in the sea if it's hit - what could be better? Technically, you can't drink - but many patrons byo and have a beer or wine with their meal.

Hippo Creek at Hillarys, bit pricey but a must for meat lovers!
