1. Re: money exchange

Perth has many money exchangers. Many flight centre travel agents have a money exchange booth in the store. Hay Street and Murray Street malls have many places to change foreign money

You will get a better exchange rate by using a debit card to get money out of ATMs.

Rates vary from location to location plus you need to build in fees. ANZ Bank charges $8 per conversion. Yesterday 1 GBP - 1 AUD will get you $1.68 @ ANZ

At that rate in UK you are paying 4% exchange on today's interbank rate. What would you bank charge on ATM exchanges in Australia? If it is less than that you are better off withdrawing from an ATM in Australia.

There may be no fees blondeswan but you will almost certainly find the exchange rate is poor so the bank/exchanger makes their money that way. Do you have a Halifax Clarity card? I believe they have no fees and a good exchange rate for ATM withdrawals- worth looking into IMO.
