1. Split 3 ways taxi convenient and cost effective.

2. All difficult to do with public transport. Hire a car or take a tour.

Have a look at tours on offer-

3. Margaret River is a 3 hr car trip one way. Ideally stay 2 nights. You can take a tour but long day.

Eg

australianpinnacletours.com.au/full-day-tour…

An alternative could be Rottnest- hire bikes and ride around Island- fun day but not cheap.

4. Sunday- spend day in Fremantle- lots to do- can catch ferry from city and train back to city.

Could stop at Cottesloe station and walk 15 minutes west to see great beach at sunset if you were interested.

5. Kings Park - great area.

Jean's advice is spot on.

With three of you the taxi would cost about the same as the shuttle, but a lot more convenient, door to door and goes when you want it to :-)

No way are you going to get to most of the Swan Valley on foot, and buses are few and far between so if you get off the bus you'll have to wait a few hours for the next one. If you can't drive, then a tour is really your only option, or possibly a chauffeured car. You could Google chauffeur car services and see if it would be cheaper than three seats on a tour (they're not cheap either).

MR as a day tour, you'll be spending half the day on a bus and not see much of actual MR. Have a look at the WA tourism website and see if something more accessible piques your interest. It's wildflower season ATM so a wildflower day tour could be enjoyable. Or there's the Perth Mint, the Bell Tower, the WA Art Gallery and Museum, lots to do in town.

Hi Carrie

I'm traveling from Singapore on 4 to 8 at the same time as your group too. My husband and I are doing the self drive but we are heading down to south straight from the airport spending a night at Mandurah before spending the next whole day at Brusselton, Margaret River and Augusta. We will catch Fremantle and city after that, staying at Cottlesloe. If your group needs a ride back, we can arrange. 😊 Happy Holiday!!
