Jetboating

I'll be in New Zealand in November with my future husband. One of the activities on the top of our list is Jetboating. Where's the best location to experience this activity? Any companies you can reccommend booking with?

We'll be visiting a large portion of the South Island and some of the North Island as well. So basically, if there's a great spot to do this, we'll find a way to get there!

Thanks!

There are several companies as TA advisors will tell you.........

We did the Shotover in Queenstown and thoroughly enjoyed it! Went back for a 2nd run as it was that good!

The Shotover Jet is a great thrill "ride".

For a fantastic jet boat "experience" in Q-town, look into the Dart River Safari - www.dartriver.co.nz

Even the drive to get to the boat in Glenorchy will be memorable.

Hi

You have lots to choose from

In Queenstown

http://www.shotoverjet.com/

http://www.goldfieldsjet.co.nz/

http://www.kjet.co.nz/

http://www.dartriver.co.nz/

I have done the shot over twice and the Goldfields about 5 times.

Everyone says the shot over is best , But I enjoy the Goldfields as they give you the history of the area.I'm told the dart river is a whole day experience, and excellant

If you are also going to Bay of Islands on N Island, they have something a little different there that may also appeal - the boats are a lot bigger than the jetboats (shaped like a speedboat X5), are powered by twin diesel motors & go out to an island in the bay with a hole in it, and through it if the weather is right (I'm told this is most of the time, but the 2 times we have been there they weren't risking it). Having seen them move, I think speed is faster than jetboats. Looked like fun.

Thanks for the advice everyone. We had definitely read that Queenstown was a good place for jetboating, but in doing more research, it seemed like there were many more areas of the country that offer this activity. Thanks though... much appreciated!
