We are in the process of planning our trip and are thinking we might want to play some of it by ear. (Flying into Auckland, but have to fly back to LAX from Sydney.) We aren't sure if we will make a loop through the North Island and then fly to Sydney from Auckland, or head south and fly from Wellington to Auckland.
The question: Can we wait to book flights and not worry about the price going sky high? Or are the Air NZ one-way flights (for example) subject to the same thing the flights are in the states - booking early on to get the cheapest price?
